What is Paper Champion?
Paper Champion is the project of Joshua Fernandez, a multi-instrumentalist, bartender, and chef based in New York City. A Queens native of Dominican descent, Fernandez has been playing music since the age of 10. After fronting hardcore and metal bands in Santo Domingo, he returned to New York to pursue a prog-rock project. Drawing on his experiences in various bands and a decade of creative evolution, Fernandez’s music combines theatricality, experimentation, and storytelling, delivering a distinctive voice in the indie music scene.
